Questions& Answers

What we charge and who pays us, who actually holds your money, what you need to start, how NRIs invest, what separates a mutual fund from PMS and an AIF, and how long a loan really takes. No hedging.

01 — The Firm & How It Is Paid

What does MGR WealthPro do?

MGR WealthPro is a wealth management, insurance and loan advisory firm based in Raipur and Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. We help families, business owners and non-resident Indians invest through mutual funds, PMS, AIF, unlisted shares and fixed income; protect income and health through life, health, general and corporate insurance; and arrange home, business, property and project loans through partner banks and NBFCs. The firm was co-founded by Ravinder Pal Singh Ubeja and Taruna Kaur Ubeja, who between them have more than 45 years of experience.

Where are your offices and can I meet you in person?

Yes. We have two offices in Chhattisgarh: 505/506 Karsen Chamber, New Timber Market, Devendra Nagar, Raipur; and near CIMS Hospital, Gondpara, Bilaspur. Meetings are by appointment, typically Monday to Saturday. Clients outside Chhattisgarh and overseas clients are served entirely over video call and WhatsApp.

What does your advice cost?

The first consultation is free and carries no obligation. We do not charge you a fee for advice and we will never send you an invoice — we are compensated by the product provider or the lender if you decide to go ahead with something. If you would like the specifics on any particular recommendation, ask and we will tell you plainly.

Does MGR WealthPro hold my money?

No, and this matters. Your investments are held directly in your own name with the asset management company and its registrar (CAMS or KFintech), and insurance policies are issued in your name by the insurer. Money moves from your bank account to the AMC or insurer, never through us. You can view and redeem your holdings independently at any time.

What is the minimum amount I need to start?

A mutual fund SIP can start at ₹500 a month, so there is no meaningful minimum for getting started. Portfolio Management Services carry a SEBI-mandated minimum of ₹50 lakh, and most Alternative Investment Funds start at ₹1 crore. We will tell you plainly when a product's minimum makes it the wrong fit rather than the right one.

Can NRIs invest in Indian mutual funds through you?

Yes. We work with non-resident Indians across the Gulf, the United States, the United Kingdom and Southeast Asia. We help set up NRE, NRO and PIS accounts, complete FATCA and KYC requirements, choose between the domestic and GIFT City routes, and plan for repatriation and Indian tax. Investors resident in the United States and Canada face additional restrictions — only some AMCs accept them, and we will tell you which ones before you commit. See our NRI services page.

What is the difference between a mutual fund, PMS and an AIF?

A mutual fund pools money from many investors; you own units of the scheme, minimums are small and liquidity is daily. PMS (Portfolio Management Services) requires a minimum of ₹50 lakh and the shares are held directly in your own demat account, so the portfolio can be tailored to you. An AIF (Alternative Investment Fund) is a pooled vehicle for strategies mutual funds cannot run — private equity, venture capital, private credit, long-short — with a typical minimum of ₹1 crore and multi-year lock-ins. Risk and illiquidity rise as you move down that list.

What is a SIF?

A Specialised Investment Fund is a category introduced by SEBI in 2025 that sits between mutual funds and PMS. It allows fund managers more flexible, higher-conviction strategies than a standard mutual fund while remaining a pooled, professionally managed product, with a minimum investment of ₹10 lakh across an AMC's SIF strategies.

Which loans do you help arrange, and how long does approval take?

We arrange home loans (purchase, plot, construction, renovation and balance transfer), loan against property, business and working-capital loans, project finance and vehicle loans, across more than twenty banks and NBFCs including SBI, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Bank of Baroda, Kotak, IDFC First, LIC Housing Finance and Tata Capital. A well-documented salaried home loan typically moves from application to sanction in one to two weeks; self-employed and property-backed cases usually take two to four weeks. The sanction, rate and final terms are always the lender's decision.

Will you help if I need to make an insurance claim?

Yes. Claim assistance is part of the service and does not carry a separate charge. We help assemble documentation, coordinate with the insurer's claims team and follow the file through to settlement. It is the main practical reason to buy a policy through an advisor rather than a website.

How do I get started?

Call or WhatsApp +91 90396 27355, or use the enquiry form below. The first meeting is a review — we look at where your money currently sits, what is already protected and what is exposed. You get a written view of that before any product is discussed. Nothing is recommended in the first conversation.

Question not on the list?

Ask it directly. We answer questions from people who never become clients too — it costs us nothing and it is how most of our clients started.

Ask the awkward question.

Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks. Read all scheme related documents carefully. Past performance is not indicative of future returns. MGR WealthPro acts as an AMFI-registered mutual fund distributor (ARN-307107) and does not provide portfolio management services in its own name.

Insurance is distributed under IRDAI licence I-241174N0118216. Insurance is a subject matter of solicitation. Loan products are arranged through partner banks and NBFCs; sanction, interest rate and final terms rest solely with the lender.
